Associate Professor in the Electrical Engineering Department and an Affiliate in the Computer Science Department at Columbia University, where he is also a Member of the Computer Engineering Program and the Sense, Collect and Move Data Center at the Data Science Institute.
His research goal is to improve the reliability and performance of Internet services, both in his academic research and via collaborations with companies including Beegol, Microsoft, Facebook, and Google. He has received awards including the ACM SIGCOMM (Special Interest Group on Data Communications) Rising Star Award (2019), the ACM SIGCOMM Best Paper Award (2021), the IETF/IRTF Applied Networking Research Prize (2014, 2019), the Facebook Faculty Research Award (2017, 2018), the Google Faculty Research Award (2013, 2014, 2015, 2016), the NSF CAREER Award (2014), and the USENIX Symposium on Networked Systems Design and Implementation Best Paper Award (2008, 2010).
